On Mission Network is partnering with our key Texas partner, Texans on Mission, to provide relief, support and hope to those impacted by the recent flooding in South Texas and the Hill Country.

The flooding is profound. We're now gaining a clear understanding of how many homes were truly affected, as the roads are just now becoming passable. Kerr County experienced a second wave of water. 

In simple terms, the flooding is ongoing and unsafe.

What are we doing?

We have deployed assessors to the region, where it is safe, to begin coordination and assessments of the areas reported as affected. We are setting up three sites in different cities to have the greatest impact.  There currently is no reported risk of ongoing flooding in those areas.

As such, we plan to deploy a three full sites by July 19. Kerrville Rebuild programs are currently paused, and we are shifting that to acute disaster response. We're preparing to facilitate multi-site coordination and stand-up sites in Comfort, Uvalde and Kerrville (which is subject to change based on consistently incoming information and coordination with TDEM.

As you can imagine, like last year, the need is great and we need to be deliberate and responsive to those needs.

What can you do?

Prayer is critical. This situation is devastating. Families are hurting and looking for hope. They are also experiencing trauma and PTSD due to the compounding impact of this flood on the heels of last year's devastation. 

We know we will need flood buckets, volunteers, funds and prayers as we once again reach out to those impacted by this disaster. Compounding this diasster are the fresh wounds of the flooding one year ago.
