Serve in Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa
Hurricane Melissa's impact is still being felt – and so is our response.
A month after Hurricane Melissa slammed into Jamaica with record-breaking winds, the island is still healing. Power remains out in many communities. Floodwaters have receded – but the damage to homes, roads and livelihoods left behind is deep. Food and clean water are still scarce in hard-hit villages.
But here's the good news: You're already part of the solution.
Over the past month, On Mission Network has been on the ground alongside local churches and community leaders – not just handing out aid, but building relationships, assessing long-term needs, feeding hundreds of thousands of people, re-roofing houses and infirmaries and laying the groundwork for sustainable recovery.
This is not a short-term fix. This is a movement.
Recovery will take years – and it will take all of us. That's why we're inviting you and your church to join the next phase of response: hands-on, heart-led service that meets real needs and brings lasting hope.
Service opportunities are open now – from rebuilding homes to distributing supplies.
If you or your group are ready to serve in Jamaica, fill out our interest form today. We'll connect with you personally to match your gifts with the needs on the ground. You must have a valid passport and an ability to remain flexible. You do not need to have prior construction experience. The cost is $100/day and it covers lodging, food, in-country transportation. All tools and materials are provided. So, just get there. Our trips run from Saturday afternoon to Friday afternoon beginning 04-January through 28-March, with the possibility of continuing beyond.
God is at work in Jamaica – and he's calling you to join him.
Thank you for living on mission – not just in words, but in action – bringing Christ's hope to those who are still hurting, still rebuilding and still believing.
